Dr. David Ewalt, MD is a native Texan from El Paso where his father was a plastic surgeon and his mother a nurse. He received his Bachelors degree in Chemistry from Texas Tech University in 1980 as Valedictorian in the College of Arts and Sciences. He continued his education in Dallas and completed his Medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School in 1984. He received his Surgical and Urological training at UT Southwestern followed by a two-year Pediatric Urology Fellowship at the prestigious Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia under the direction of Drs. John W. Duckett Jr. and Howard M. Snyder III, both renowned pioneers in reconstructive pediatric urology.
Dr. Ewalt returned to Dallas in 1992 to join the Urology faculty at UT Southwestern with a sub-specialization in pediatric urology at Children’s Medical Center Dallas and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. He entered private practice in 1995 and was selected as a Top Doctor in America by Castle Connolly Medical and featured in Castle Connolly Medical’s America’s Top Doctors® book from 2002-2015 and Texas Monthly Super Doctors 2004- 2015. Dr. Ewalt was selected to D Magazine “Best Pediatric Specialists” in 2004, 2007, and 2010-2015. He is currently Board certified in Urology with a Special Certificate of added Qualification in Pediatric Urology.
